09-22-2016 MONDAY FISHING STRATEGY

Good Morning Fishers of Men! 

We will be fishing, this Monday, from 6:00am to 9:00am, from the Concrete Riverwalk located on Riverside Drive, Manasquan Inlet, NJ. 

The winds will be a strong NNW Wind at approximately 18mph to max of 25mph.

The temperature will be in the low 70s, so bring a light rain jacket just in case.

We had a great time fishing in this same spot last Saturday morning. The Inlet was filled with locals and vacationers fishing, surfing, and just walking around on a beautiful day. 

I met up with another brother in Christ there, Dr. J, and we talked about the Lord and how the Holy Spirit leads us and guides us. How God is always with us, leading us, and giving us the privilege to be used by Him, to be Fishers of men, To witness about Jesus, and to minister to each other in the most unlikely and common places. God bless you Brother Dr. J. It was great meeting you and talking with you my brother. Hope to see you again soon.

SATURDAY FISHING STRATEGY 08-20-2016

The Lord Willing, We will be Fishing from the Manasquan Riverside Drive Concrete River Walk this Saturday Morning, 08-20-2016, 6:00am to 8:00am. 

The winds are forecasted to be NNW changing to NE by 8:00am

We will use gulp rigs on the running tide currents. The tide will be Low to High with the High Tide being at 9:45am. 

I chose this Saturday , because Monday is looking too windy for fishing. We may do Monday morning if the weather forecast changes.

I had to share this quote that I read in today's devotional from Jonathan Edwards sermon on Heaven today,

"...there are many principles contrary to love, that make this world like a tempestuous sea. This quote blew me away. 

I pray to God that He will enable us to live eternally in the Blessed Peace of His Presence that this quote from Jonathan Edwards is describing to us today...in Jesus name! Amen!

08-15-2016 Another Great Day of Fishing

It was a great day of fishing today at the concrete Riverwalk, on Riverside Drive, Manasquan, NJ

I was able to hook a healthy 17 inch fluke right off the bat and then some short fluke afterward. 

Here is a pic of the 17incher...lol

But the highlight of the morning was meeting the people around me that were fishing also. 

I met a brother in Christ, named John, from Wall Township, who told me that he became a born-again believer in 2006. 

We had a great time fishing together and getting to know each other. I gave him a flyer and this blog address so he can follow it. God Bless you Brother John and I hope to fish with you again in the near future.

Then, I met up with a wonderful family from out of town. They saw me catching fluke and asked for my help to help them to catch fluke also. So, we made some rigs and they began to catch fluke right away. 

Here's a picture of Mr. J.P. and his son-in-law, Nick, holding the fluke that Mr. J.P. caught with the rigs we made. 

I wanted to thank Ms. Linda also for the delicious poppy seed bread and corn bread breakfast treats. Yumm!

It was a great morning, we handed out 7 Sonshine Service Flyers to the people and families that I thank God that I had the privilege to meet with and fish with today.

08/15/2016 FISHING STRATEGY

Fishing Strategy for 08/15/2016:

The Lord Willing, We will be fishing from 6:00am to 8:00am off from the Steel Rail at the Manasquan Inlet Concrete River Walk,  located on Riverside Drive. (See Map) 

There is free parking on 3rd Avenue and 1 Hour Parking on Riverside Drive. 

Slack Tide is from 6:00am to 7:00am

Winds will be, West North West. 

Temperature will be around 75 degrees (80 degree index)

We will be fishing for Summer Fluke. 

Someone told me that there are catching Snappers there also...

August 8, 2016 CANCELLATION

I'm The next Fishing Strategy will resume on the following Monday, August 15, 2016

I was thinking of fishing at the Concrete River Walk, at Riverside Drive, Manasquan inlet for next week. 

The Lord Willing.

Here is a quick strategy map of the area, if you would like to check it out this week without me. They are catching Fluke at Slack Tide (which is within the one hour after High Tide Time and also is within the one hour after Low Tide Time). For example, this Monday's Low Tides are at 5:50am and 6:14pm. This means that  best time to fish on this Monday will be on the low slack tides, from 5:50am to 6:50am and at 6:14pm to 7:14pm. 

They are also catching Bluefish, Sea Robbins, Common Skates, and an occasional Stripped Bass. This area is pretty much unfishable when the current is running between Tides, and when the river runners are running (i.e. Seaweed), but it is fishable if your able to be there at the slack tides. You can Check out the post on this blog titled, "Fluke Shore Fishing Video", for a rig and technique that works very well in catching fluke.

It's not just about the shore fishing. This idea of the Fishers of Men Ministry, is one of starting a Fishing Evangelism Ministry. Jesus, did not stay in the synogogue. He went to the shore and helped the fishermen who were fishing there to catch the fish that they were not able to catch that night. Then, he recruited them to follow Him. To become Fishers of Men.

 We have a great opportunity to reach out with different beach evangelism ministries (fishing evangelism, surfing evangelism, diving evangelism, boating evangelism, etc.) and reach the people that are living the salt life around us, but don't know or have a relationship with the God that makes the salt life possible .

To hand out flyers (to the souls that the Holy Spirit Leads you to give them to ) and invite all salt-lifers to the SONSHINE Evening Summer Night Time Services at our church. 

To pray with the salt-lifers that are hurting around us and to share with them the hope and love that we have found in Christ Jesus our Lord. 

We are the Salt of the Earth in Christ Jesus!

We are truly living "The Salt Life in Christ Jesus"! 

We are the Alternate Beach City on a Hill in Manasquan, NJ

It is our call to Shine the Light and the Love of Jesus to all of the salt-lifers around us. 

To all who are searching for true love, an eternal family, a place to call home, forever! 

It's all about Jesus, the Ultimate Salt Lifer!

He is the only solution! 

The only Hope!

Fluke Shore Fishing Video

Here is a short video of one of the techniques that I use for catching Fluke from the Shark River Inlet.

I use the Gulp, Saltwater, 4" Swimming Minnow, artificial bait to catch Fluke.

Click on this "link" to see an example of the artificial (Gulp) fish bait that I use. 

This artificial bait is extremely popular and can be found at most businesses that sell fishing supplies.

I use a 6/0 (black) Octopus Hook from Gamakatsu. 

and 20lb. Test Flourocarbon Leader from Seaguar,

And a 1oz. Lead Weight.

All attached to a double swivel on top of the rig to prevent tangling and twisting of the line.

The best time to use this technique is at Slack Tide. 

(Which is within the first hour right after High Tide, or within the first hour right after Low Tide)

"What are you looking for?", Jesus

This was the title of yesterday's sermon, that Pastor Jim preached at the 5 o'clock service last night.

Just a question that we should all be asking ourselves, as disciples of Christ.

What is it that we are searching for?

Many problems come up in our lives, but they all point to the one thing that is our solution to every problem, and that is... 

"To know God"! 

There is always some sin connected to the problem that we're having. There's always some idol. Something that is in the way of us getting to "Know Him". 

Something that we have made the solution other than God himself. 

This is the root of all of our sin. 

This is the problem at the root of all of our problems! 

Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of God, is the only answer!!!

There's so much for us to repent of, and there's so much that he can forgive us for! 

Do we desire to Know God?  Are we willing to trust in him and to surrender totally to the power of His grace.

Jesus is asking, "What are you searching for?" 

Then Jesus says, "Follow Me!"

How will we answer His question for us today?

I caught a 17 inch Fluke already. I will be here for the next two hours.

STEP ONE: YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THE NJ SALTWATER FISHING LICENSE

Simple NJ 

The main focus for our first week of fishing will be on how to catch Summer Flounder (Fluke), but before we can do any fishing we must take the first step, which is to register online for the free NJ Saltwater Individual Angler Fishing License.

Step 1: 

You "MUST" register online for a free NJ Saltwater Fishing License. 

Click on the Link below to Register,

NJ Salt Water Registry Link

Once there, click on the blue tab that says, "New Individual Registration"

Select the US Citizen dot And click on the continue tab. Then, fill out the "Individual Saltwater Angler Registration Form"

Once that is filled out, you can print out your NJ Saltwater License. The best thing to do is to laminate the paper license. (Helpful Tip: you can cut out the paper License and laminate it with clear wide package tape) 

Please feel free to contact me through my email, or at church, if your having problems filling it out or in printing it.

Don't worry if you did not get the chance to register for your NJ Fishing License before the fishing event, because we can always register online, immediately and anywhere, by any smart phone that has access to the web, but it is always best to have a printed copy of your license, just in case a Ranger comes around asking.

Please contact me by email after you have registered so that I can add you to the Fishers Of Men Roster.
